Unique Two-Way Interface A big part in the simplicity of Translator has to do with it's exclusive Two-Way Interface. We learned with our Ensoniq Disk Tools program that multiple list columns, disk browsers that you had to switch around all the time, and multiple-clicks and choices made for a cluttery and confusing program that wasn't efficient with it's user interface. Translator's Two-Way Interface is just like Windows's Explorer setup. You have "containers" of objects on the left, and actual objects that you control on the right. To translate, you simply:
And that's it! (In fact, you can pre-select Job #3 above, so you don't have to do it.) You can go in and out of proprietary disks and Virtual Drives a leisure. You see the most amount of information in the most natural way with only two panes. No more switching disk or file browsers, rereading already-read information, no more having to select this and that - Translator does it for you. Dragging is a basic element in modern GUI's, because in one motion you are making multiple decisions. "What am I starting with?" "What am I doing?" "Where am I going?" Instead of making multiple clicks, you visually see where you are and where you are going. In fact, Translator reacts to any disks put into the drive and mounts them for you. Nice! ![]() |
