Custom Designed Hi-Tech Architecture
Each entry is partially derived from another. At each connection point there is a process that can customize the conversion.

Unlike other programs, Translator's design has changed little since it was designed in 1998. It hasn't had to! Chicken System's had a hand in designing several innovative Ensoniq third-party products in the 1990's, and from that long experience crafted the ideas for the first true Universal Sampler Converter.

We noted that other programs used a universal internal format to conduct their conversions, and while we saw the efficiencies of such an approach, we also knew of the constraints it brought and the inability to truly match one format to another.

Translator's design is based around semi-modular, entirely object-oriented, driver-based concepts. While each input and output format has it's own driver code controlling its behavior and format structure, there is yet an additional layer that enables any customization possible - directly based on the original and not a structured copy. This way, a much more musical approach can be taken - one translation at a time. There is a minimum of code that is duplicated, and such code is consistently being optimized and merged into a common structure at all times.

This is have proven best over time, as Translator has consistently converted those "special" Roland, or Ensoniq, or Akai etc. parameters that other competing programs leave out.

Since the architectural design was innovative to begin with, Translator become an incredibly versatile coding platform. Not only did it do great every-day translations, it enabled us to take individual requests from users and developers than shaved enormous amounts of time from their work. Many top companies and libraries, such as Spectrasonics and Garritan Orchestral Strings, have the Translator touch on them as the internal developers used it to convert the native libraries into others.

And now with our new CPS (Custom Programming Service), free to Translator users, we don't lock you into the features WE decided to put in - you are now in charge of what Translator does and any special personal features you'd like to put into the program. The deep modular level of Translator and multiple points of directing program flow enables us to slip into the program easily and respond to most custom queries that have come our way.

Thus, Translator has the best of all worlds - the consistency and reliability of reused code for each sampler format, and the ability to customize any step of the way.

While other programs are constantly reinventing themselves, Translator had the right idea from in the beginning.
